This sermon has truly blessed me; I can only thank God that this video popped up as I was posting my "Soul Food 2| Who You Reppin?" video. Thank you Jesus!

How I Deal with Difficult, Disrespectful, Mean People I was having a difficult time dealing with this very rude, mean person; and I didn't want to lose my composure so I had to take it to the Lord and ask Him how am I to deal with this issue. I thought about how Jesus handled some difficult, disrespectful, mean people in the Bible. -He wasn't accepted by His own hometown people. They didn't believe who He was. Matthew 13:54-58: 54 Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. "Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?" they asked. 55 "Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas? 56 Aren't all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?" 57 And took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor." 58 And He did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith. -The Pharisees didn't like that He was teaching "Love & Salvation," and not what they taught; so they had Him {Jesus} killed, which was the reason He came to earth, and thank God; without the death of Jesus and His resurrection I would not be able to see my Lord in heaven. Matthew 9:11-13: 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?" 12 On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Matthew 12:2: When the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him {Jesus} "Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath." John 7:32, 45-48: 32 The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering such things about him. then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him. 45 Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, "Why didn't you bring him {Jesus} in?" 46 "No one ever spoke the way this man {Jesus} does," the guards declared. 47 "You mean he has deceived you also?" the Pharisees retorted. 48 "Has any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him?" -Jesus gave us a new commandment for us to love one another. Even our enemies! Thus, including those difficult, disrespectful, mean people. Matthew 13:33-36: 33 "My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going you cannot come. 34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." 36 Simon Peter asked him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus replied, "Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later." Luke 6:27-29; 32-33: 27 "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. 32 "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that." So turn the other cheek, and love this person and treat them kindly, even though that's not what they offered me. That doesn't mean that I have to deal with them all the time either, just during this confrontation I will do as the Lord did, and move on...lol! God bless you all. -Cassandra |
